TIP OF THE DAY
Friday, February 25, 2011 Learn more about Ian Clothier, the author of Ian's Corner. This week I was going to tell you how to install a volume control into the pre-amp we made last time. There are two good reasons why I won't be doing that. One, my 4 year old son was feeling poorly. And two, I forgot to get the bits! Oh well, we're all human I suppose. I did see something in the Kalimba Magic Newsletter on the 19th of this month that gave me pause for thought though. Mark has extended the deadline for the competitions again. Why isn't anybody entering their work for these competitions? Okay I'll admit I haven't submitted anything yet but it's not because I don't want to I just don't get a lot of time at the moment to sit down and play. Anyone with a four year old child will understand. I did get some playing the other day while I waited for the spaghetti to cook for tea! What I want to know is what are the reasons that no one wants to send an entry in. Recording your playing is quite easy as I have explained in the last couple of Friday tips. Attaching an MP3 to an e-mail is straightforward enough. Is there something else that is putting everyone off? Please let me know your reasons! Drop me or Mark a message with your reason, anonymously if you wish, and I'll try to address the issues raised in future Friday tips. Hopefully life will slow down enough to let me get the bits for the pre amp volume and we can get on with it next time. Here's hoping to get lots of feedback. |
