Description

This product is the 50 page PDF ebook for learning the Star-13 in G tuning. But lets look at the Star-13 kalimba:

The Magadi Star-13 Kalimba is a larger, diatonic version of the Moon-10 Kalimba. The tines are a bit closer together than the pentatonic Moon-10, making glissandos easier to play on this kalimba. And the diatonic tuning (that is, Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do) makes it melodically and harmonically more powerful.

The resonating frame drum and the floating kalimba embedded in the drum skin gives this kalimba great deep wah-wah effects, a very bright sound, and sustain of the tine vibrations for up to 10 seconds.

And in the G tuning, this instrument just seems right to me. Natural and intuitive. And powerful with the diatonic chording.

Oh, and when you purchase a Star-13 Kalimba in G Tuning, it comes bundled with this download.

This product is a 50-Page color PDF with lots of photos, words, and tablature-based instruction for how to play – and UNDERSTAND –  the Star-13 Kalimba in G Tuning. To learn more about what exactly is in the download, view the alternate product images, which are four pages from the PDF – including the intro, the table of contents, and the lessons on octaves from pages 22 and 23.

You can purchase the Star-13 Kalimba in this G Tuning, or you can retune your Star-13 Kalimba to G yourself! The only difference is the F gets tuned to F#… but that makes a huge difference in how you play and understand the instrument.
