Description

This Afroharp is made from a Hugh Tracey Alto Kalimba, but it has a crack in the facewood. Includes Afroharp instructional download. Nice wood, but there is a crack in the facewood. The crack has been glued, and I don’t expect this to affect the instrument tone or playability. The extent of the crack is covered in the additional product images.

The Afroharp was originally a Chicago-designed and Japanese-made hexatonic kalimba created in the late 60s. While it created a big stir, the business flopped in the early 70s. There is still interest in the Afroharp, and essentially no supply, so I started retuning other kalimbas to the Afroharp.
