How should I color the tines on my 17-Note kalimba?
How to paint the tines on your 17-Note Kalimba actually requires some thought!
The short answer: if you have a Hugh Tracey Treble Kalimba, in the key of G, butu with a low note of B, then paint five of the tines as above.
But if you have one of the new “17-Note Kalimbas in C” you have a choice. The Chinese-made kalimbas usually come unpainted, but with decals, so you can color the tines in either of two ways: in a 5-painted-tine system, or in a 6-painted tine system. With the 6-painted tine system, you can use the complete Kalimba Magic library of music for the 17-Note Kalimba in C.
