Description

The Celeste model (board mounted) plus the clear higher notes of the treble make this kalimba sound like a delicate music box.

This instrument is played just like the 17-note treble Kalimba, but it lacks the resonant box. Consequently, it sounds even more like an antique music box than does the treble kalimba.

The small sound board is well-suited for small hands or children. The small board also permits using the right index finger up-stroke method typically used in mbira playing.

A nice trick to increase the volume is to hold it against a window or a table as a sounding board.
